Description

In early September, Hurricane Florence hit the eastern seaboard of the United States, making landfall near Wilmington, NC. In October, Hurricane Michael struck the Florida Panhandle and the gulf coast. These funds will assist the communities impacted by the storms. Donations will be distributed to affected communities by LU Send Now, Liberty University's quick response team for urgent disaster relief and humanitarian needs. Having already visited the communities in Carolinas, LU Send Now is planning to assist those in the Florida gulf coast region.

A message from Coach Ritchie McKay:

"This a chance for us to make a dark day bright and we cannot thank Virginia Tech enough for partnering with us."

About the Game:

The Liberty Men's Basketball team will host the Virginia Tech Hokies at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 4. All proceeds will benefit Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael relief efforts. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students, and may be purchased through the Liberty Ticket Office at 434-582-7328 or online at LibertyFlames.com.

A message from coach Buzz Williams:

“It is honor to be able to participate in this meaningful event,” Virginia Tech head coach Buzz Williams said. “Hurricanes and their aftermaths have effected this region and this country greatly during the last few months. To be able to play an exhibition game and help people in need, is the right thing to do. Coach McKay and the Liberty University community have done a great job in helping those in need and I am glad we are able to contribute, as well. Our fans, who may not be able to attend the game, have the opportunity to give through the online link. We need all of Hokie Nation to get involved and help these people.
